Opportunity :

Parsons is currently seeking an Mechanical Engineer I focusing on HVAC, plumbing, and/or facility systems . The Mechanical Engineer will perform a variety of engineering and design tasks by applying standard engineering techniques and analyses within their discipline. Mechanical engineers at this level have basic experience and an increasing proficiency in the utilization of engineering theories and practices. Typical project assignments are small to medium in scope where assignments involve CAE (computer aided engineering)/CAD (computer aided design) applications. The Engineer at this level is in a mid-level mode, being developed under some supervision in the utilization of engineering theories and practices, and in gaining exposure to Company procedures. Willingness to travel or relocate to supplier, client, and construction site locations, is expected. Significant experience with HVAC systems is essential for this role.

Responsibilities :

  • Completes a variety of assignments such as drawings, specifications, reports, and other materials suitable for procurement and construction purposes.

  • Under the direction of a Senior Engineer, prepares standard engineering calculations, material quality takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.

  • Performs site surveys of existing facilities for as-build generation, rehabilitation designs, and for construction support of new facilities. Adherence to a Zero-Incident safety goal is expected.

  • Prepares and issues specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.

  • Coordinates design input and technical guidance with CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and other Engineers working on the same project. Utilization of CAD and/or Building Information Models and associated design software is expected.

  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications:

  • 4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field)

  • 3-5 years of related work experience with HVAC systems.

  • Engineer-in-Trainingpreferred. PE desirable.

  • Working knowledge of CAD and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering
